FG was founded in 1998 by Chip Felkel, after an extensive background in state and national political campaigns which began with his work with Campbell for Governor (SC) and later the 1988 Bush-Quayle campaign.

Since then, FG has served as a trusted advisor, navigator and connector to senior decision-makers at all levels of business and government providing a frank objective perspective on political and policy issues, on communications challenges and business development projects. Based on those years of experience FG launched RAP Index®, a revolutionary public affairs tool that uncovers an organization’s best stakeholder assets. Our expertise and insight has also been utilized by law firms, associations and corporations as a speaker for staff retreats, training seminars, and annual meetings. Chip Felkel is also a sought-after analyst of political and corporate affairs for regional, national and global media that represent major news and business media in print, cable and broadcast.

Hollis (Chip) Felkel is a veteran communications strategist and public affairs consultant who provides strategic counsel, advocacy and guidance to Fortune 500’s, privately held companies, as well as national issue-based organizations. In his earlier career, Felkel served in management, support and consulting roles with well over one hundred different GOP political campaigns around the country at the presidential, statewide and local level.

Aufmuth's work has landed FG clients front page media stories, successful coalition developments and triumphant campaigns.  His ability to synthesize corporate goals with political realities brings a valuable component to RAP Index® clients and played an instrumental role in the development of this revolutionary tool.  Before joining The Felkel Group, Aufmuth worked on then Congressman Jim DeMint's 2002 reelection campaign and DeMint’s initial U.S. Senate campaign.  A graduate of Clemson University,  Brian currently serves on the Greenville County Library System Board of Trustees in Greenville, SC where he lives with his wife and two children.

With an extensive network of business, government and political relationships across the country, Felkel Group opens doors and provide counsel and guidance until the deal is closed and the contract signed.
